The fallout from Donald Trump remarks has been very fast and clear, NBC, one of Trump’s biggest business partner and friend were the first to actually cut ties with Trump, stating that they will no longer be airing Trump’s shows on their network, that is “The Apprentice”, “Miss U.S.A.” and “Miss Universe”. Other entities and business have also come out publicly and distanced themselves from Trump but as for the golfing world, the decision to part ways with Trump is proving to be very difficult.
At the moment they have been faced with tough choices to make and as much they have been able to make one, their one particular topic that is really eating their minds and that is the Women’s U.S. Open that is set to be held at Trump National that is in Bedminster, N.J. till 2017. As at now, the major news that has come from the golfing world with regards to Trump’s inappropriate comments about Mexican immigrants has been the fact that the Grand Slam of golf will no longer be played at Trump's L.A. Club. Other than that nothing much has been done by the USGA so as to distance themselves from Trump. In fact, many were calling for them to shift the location for next month’s Women’s U.S. Open but according to them time and logistic does allow that to happen.
That out of the way, they are being forced to make a decision on whether the U.S. Women’s Open will continue to be played at his golf course.
