Sim Young Kim won the final round of the LOTTE Championship

This young golfer was born on 21 January, 1993 in Seoul, South Korea. She still lives in that city. At the time of winning the final round of the LOTTE Championship, she was 22 years and 2 months old. Kim qualified for the LPGA Tour at the 2014 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. Four years before, she turned professional. This is her second career victory. Previously was at the 2015 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. Beside this, she has 5 career victories on the KLPGA.

The reward for this accomplishment, beside a trophy, check for $270.000. With this, she remains on 263rd place, on the LPGA Career Money List, with her earnings of $699.700, in this season. Some experts believe that she will move from 5th to 1st place on the 2015 LPGA Official Money List. Her race to the CME Globe should be equally successful. With 1.473 points, she should move from 4th to 1st place. This victory is also important for the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, where she will move from No.19 to No.16.

Kim is the first golfer from South Korea who won this championship in the last 4 years (in the events 4-year history). This was her second time competing in the LOTTE Championship. Before that, she finished 2014-MC. This young golfer is now 2-0 in the playoffs, for this season. She defeated Inbee Park on the first playoff (holed out for eagle). With this victory, golfers from South Korea have 6 victories. Between her last start at the 2015 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic and her latest victory, Kim had 5 starts.
